Will there be a credit check?

Klarna may perform a soft credit check on your profile, however, it will not affect your credit score and you do not need a minimum credit score either to apply.

How to use Klarna

Using Klarna is quite simple and we give you step-by-step instructions below. First, you will need to download the Klarna app and set up your account.

To be able to make use of Klarna you must download the app and set up your account.

Steps to get started with the Klarna app

1. Download the Klarna app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. When you open the app you will be prompted to create an account where you will enter your email address. 
3. A code will be sent to your email address which you will need to input into the app to verify your identity. 
4. Next, you will be prompted to add a phone number to connect to your account.
5. A code will be sent to your number which you will need to input into the app to verify your identity. 
6. Next, you will be asked for your permission to track you. You can deny it.
7. You will be directed to a page to find stores that accept in-store payments.
8. Tap the back button to get to the Home screen and start exploring the app.

Using Klarna to buy Lexie OTC hearing aids

Follow these steps

1. Visit www.lexiehearing.com/us and choose the hearing aids that fit your needs best.
2. Add your Lexie OTC hearing aids to your cart and go to check out.
3. Complete your details and choose ‘Klarna’ as your payment option on the ‘Payment’ page. 
4. After clicking “Complete order”, you will be redirected to Klarna to purchase securely.
5. From here you will choose your preferred payment option and add your card details.
6. You will then confirm the amount and complete the payment.

Buying on the Klarna app

You can shop directly on the Klarna app instead of using it as a payment option on a company’s website. Please follow the instructions below to see how you can shop directly from Klarna. Remember, all of the below actions are performed directly on the Klarna app:

1. From the home screen on the Klarna app, select the Shop online option.
2. Search for the retailer you’re interested in purchasing from, such as Leixe Hearing or Walmart (some retailers might request that you sign in to your account).
3. Add all the items you want to purchase to your cart and press the pink Klarna button.
4. Klarna will then create a secure one-time card.
5. Approve the amount and other details like shipping and taxes. Select continue.
6. A soft credit check may be performed. This doesn’t affect your credit score.
7. Klarna will also ask your permission to increase the amount you’re about to spend so that shipping and tax are covered.
8. Enter your details like name, birth date, and address.
9. Agree to terms by selecting confirm and continue.
10. Select the payment plan you prefer.
11. Select continue after choosing your preferred payment method. You will then need to add your bank or credit card info.
12. Save your card info, review your plan, and select confirm and continue.
13. Klarna will then let you copy the details of your Klarna one-time card.
14. When done, exit out of the pop-up in the Klarna app to go back to the retailer.
15. From the retailer’s checkout screen in the Klarna app, add a new payment method.
16. Klarna will then offer to paste/apply your one-time card info, or you can do it manually.
17. Whichever you choose, add the card, choose your billing address, and place the order.

Buying in-store with Klarna

Follow these steps when you want to use Klarna to purchase in-store:

1. Open the Klarna app on your smartphone and select the in-store option on the home screen.
2. Set up your in-store card. 
3. This requires a valid debit or credit card. You will only do this once. 
4. Your card needs at least 25% of the total amount you’re hoping to spend.
5. Amex and prepaid cards are not accepted.
6. Your card will be available in Apple Wallet or Google Play. This card is for in-store use.
7. You can then shop at any terminal that accepts Apple Pay and Google Pay.
8. After this setup process select ‘Yes, I’m ready to start’.
9. Enter the amount you wish to spend and then continue.
10. A soft credit check may be performed. This doesn’t affect your credit score.
11. Klarna will also ask your permission to add extra to cover shipping and tax.
12. Klarna will offer its “Pay in 4” payment plan option with a link to see more details.
13. You may be asked to enter your bank or credit card info.
14. If you already have, then just review your plan, hit confirm, and continue.
15. Your in-store card will be created.
16. Select Next and agree to the terms.
17. Klarna will show you how to use Apple Pay or Google Pay and tell you how long the card is valid.
18. Most cards are only valid for 24 hours.

Klarna’s payment methods

Klarna offers various payment options to suit you best. There are four options available; upfront payment (card), 30-day repayment, 4 interest-free payments, and financing over 6, 12, 24, and 36 months are available, depending on which options the retailer has chosen. Klarna bills automatically through the debit or credit card that was used during payment.

Pay now

• Pay with your debit or credit card through the Klarna app. See legal terms.
• Pay the full balance at checkout. This option is ideal when you have extra funds and want to close out your loan.

Pay in 4 equal installments

• Pay in four equal installments, every two weeks. See legal terms here. 
• The first installment is due at checkout. This will be the balance divided by four.
• There is no interest. Should you be late to pay there will be a fee of up to $7.

Pay in 30 days

• Pay the full balance after 30 days. Nothing is due at checkout. See legal terms here. 
• There is no interest or late fee. Should you not make the full payment you might go into default. 

Financing

• Pay with a small loan ranging from 6 months to 36 months. See legal terms. 
• Interest ranges from 0% to 29.99%; with 19.99% for standard purchases.
• Should you be late to pay there will be a fee of up to $35.
